Lately I have been driving a lot, a lot more then I should in fact I’ve been all over this shit hole city we call Los Angeles / Orange county / The Valley… being that I’m not a native I tend to lump all three of these separate places into on big city.. Los Angeles. While I’ve been out driving around, I’ve realized that California probably has the second worst drivers in the country.. (right behind Florida).. And I think the longer I am here the more my driving skills determinate. One only has to ride with Christine for about 3 minutes to realize that if you are here longer then 5 years you are doomed to be a horrible driver. I do break a lot of driving laws.. I’m comfortable with that, it really doesn’t bother me, so I’ve started to compile a list of the driving laws I break and my thinking behind them.
8. I speed – I speed everywhere I go.. Except when someone is riding with me. This is purely a logical / mathematical calculation on my part. There are like 34 million cars in Los Angeles, maybe 50,000 cops.. It’s a pure #’s game. It is unlikely that I will get caught… it took me 11 years to get my first speeding ticket that I got out of by doing drivers school on the net over some beers one afternoon… if I’m 38 when I get my next ticket.. Cool.
7. Stop Signs are Purely Optional – I just can’t see people enforcing this law.. Continue reading →
