Women, by nature, are very self-critical about their looks. If you don’t believe me, just look at the amount of money we spend on getting our hair done, skin products, weight-loss programs, clothes, and plastic surgeries each year. “Being more beautiful” is big business in America, and our culture perpetuates the notion that if women aren’t beautiful, they won’t be successful, they won’t keep a man, and they won’t be respected. So… it’s not entirely our fault that we sometimes become obsessed with our appearances, develop eating disorders, and wind up being very insecure.

We can spend time complaining about how unfair it is for society to put pressure on women to be physically perfect, but chances are, we’re not going to change it. You probably just want that one special girl in your life to be a little less insecure about herself, [...]

So… this guy named Al Gringlen in Illinois just received a life sentence for committing a string of armed bank robberies that netted him about $60,000 which he then spent on crack and prostitutes. Sounds like a reall winner, right?
Here?s the kicker… I love this… he was caught because his son (one who is a police officer in Peoria) happened to be checking out a law enforcement website, and recognized his dad on the surveillance video of one of the robberies. The son called his brother (a music teacher) and together they decided to go confront their dad. While they were there, they found a diary their father had kept about the robberies and the clothes …

2.0 Upgrade and English is Deadly?

As most of our regular readers know, about a week ago I upgraded to Wordpress 2.0 RC3 (Release Canadate 3) to disasterous results. Tonight I upgraded to the Wordpress 2.0 Final and things went much smoother. ) If your not using wordpress for your own blog I suggest you run out an get it.
There are all kinds of very cool features in the newest version of Wordpress and most people arn?t using a theme as hacked up as ours, so I?m guessing your implimentation or upgrade will go smoooth, on a seperate note…. my mom sent me over an email today that just cracked me up…
