I like the idea, but let’s go a bit further with the sweeping reforms…
1) No one is allowed to play for any team unless they were born and raised within 200 miles of the team’s home base. (This, of course, means that teams may not move to other cities and the competition will be more fierce within more dense demographic areas.)
2) Gloves are for sissies. Baseball players may not use them anymore.
3) Issue body armor and pistols to every player on a football team. Toss in some interesting obstacles and set the ball to detonate at random intervals, not to exceed 3 minutes.
4) Remove all pads and protection in hockey. Period.
5) Remove gloves in boxing.
6) Remove all protective gear from NASCAR and add 100 gallon tanks of jet fuel–not to be tapped for racing, mind you, just to make the crashes more interesting. (In fact, make it napalm, just so no one can cheat and try to use it for fuel.)
7) Sissy-ass soccer players may not wear any form of footwear henceforth.
The only illegal tackle in football involves using non-regulation barbed-wire. All other methods are perfectly legal.
9) Any player may challenge any other player to single-combat. The one accepting the challenge determines if it is “first blood” or “to the death”. The winner is awarded 10 points for his team for first blood and 100 points for killing his opponent.
10) Players are allowed lucrative advertising contracts, but must pay a heavy dues to their home stadium owners. There will be no such thing as “team owners”.
11) Stadiums must pay their city $10 per ticket sold and rent to build the stadium–not to mention that they have to pay for the stadium themselves.
12) Every broadcast of a sporting event must have 50% of its advertising time devoted to public service announcements.

After reading the shit he took.. the HGH improved his vision helped him track the ball… if you don’t think strength makes a difference.. then why did he start hitting 70+ homeruns at age 35? and not 28.. in his prime. I mean Jordan didn’t dominate at age 35.. Barry Sanders, Jim Brown.. all gone by early 30’s.. yet BB is his most dominate 35-40.. that’s pretty odd.. yes i admit that the roids add a huge advantage to bonds but the reason that jordan and those others couldn’t dominate at that age was the wear and tear of the game, look at guys like cecil fielder who had their day in baseball, there isn,t alot of times where an all out sprint let alone a run is needed

Damn I wish i had been on sooner, I was hoping this was get posted….why you ask? B/c Bonds is a fucking piece of shiit who did nothing I repeat and caps”NOTHING” in baseball until he went to san fran and started using roids and other performance drugs. Great pix chris too…look at his scrawny non producing ass at 26 in a pitsburgh uniform, and now look at his juiced up ass in underarmor at 40. That is the complete opposite of what it should be. HGH does improve eyesight to a degree, but do the roids improve ability? NO they do not, yes he still need to amek contact with the ball…Hello he is in the the fucking major leagues. You don;t get there unless u can hit. he had raw abiltiy to play well. That why they are called performance anhancing. You take joe scrub of bench in the park and put him on the juice and expect him to play in the nfl or mlb. It won’t happen he doesn’t have the ability to begin with. But you put a player in the league he will benfit greatly. All bonds ‘ pop up and outfield flys he had in pittsburgh are going over th ewall now because he juiced up and has more power. Put him back in the same weight he was in pittsburgh he still struggles to hit 30-40 homers a year at best. IMHO he should be removed from the league asap and stricken of his titles b/c they are worthles and tainted. Steroids have no buisnes in sports what so ever. If you can’t hack it with natural ability cry and go buy a new tricycle. Or keep hittign the weights au-natural and “PRACTICE” u lazy bastards

Using steroids to create a body that break records is like entering a motorboat into a regatta with sailboats. Sure, the guy at the helm of the motorboat has to be somewhat skilled in operating a boat– he can’t be a complete moron– but having that little motor tacked on the back gives him the advantage without a doubt. So what if it wasn’t legal at the time he did it? So what if he really didn’t know he was taking steroids (yeah, right)? The point is… records exist when we compare apples to apples. I say we wipe him off the books. None of this asterik shit. What the hell is that? If you cheat on an exam in college, they don’t give you an A on your transcript with a little asterik that denotes you cheated in the class. They give you a big fat F. Tough shit if you could have made a B by studying and not cheating. You chose to cheat. You should have thought about that before you made that decision. Barry Bonds can go blow Terrell Owens and carry on their little piss and moan party somewhere else because frankly, they both need to shut the fuck up.

The people who seem to be complaining the most about Bonds are the ones who continue to watch, and therefore finance, a sport where they know that steroid use is an issue. It isn’t just Barry Bonds doing this. Although I think he is a shithead -more for what comes out of his mouth than his steroid use- the real problem is that we keep watching the sport. I say fuck baseball, not fuck Barry Bonds, until it gets its act together.

I have to disagree with you on this one, Rob. I can’t stand baseball… I’d rather watch sit there and watch oil leak out of my car for five hours than watch a baseball game. But I do respect the institution of the sport itself and understand where the people who love that game are coming from. It’s not the fans who watch the sport that’s the problem. It’s Barry Bonds and the other a-holes who think it’s okay to try to cheat the system for personal gain. Saying its the fans is sort of like blaming patrons in a restaurant for the food poisoning caused by one Hepatitis-ridden line cook. The cheater is the problem… not the people who appreciate what the sport should be (and would be) if Barry Bonds was booted.

So i just dug up the post and posted a comment about said individual! And don’t be hating on the SD fans, b/c fans everywhere are going to do it! Bonds deserves all of it, and it’s not disrespectful to the other players…they should encourage it until that lying fuck admits his steroid usage over the past 8 yrs and forfeits all his stats therefore!
Also the fans were always loyal to players and the spirit of the game until the players went on strike…since then they (the players) get what they deserve espcially the cheaters! They are the ones who have ruined baseball not the fans!

I don’t disagree that the players’ strike did ruin baseball. But with all the whiney ass players striking, and Bonds cheating, and the fans heckling… really, what’s the point? I don’t think baseball is anything like it used to be when it was revered as the All-American pastime. I’ve never been a baseball fan myself, but I think it’s a shame that its turned in to what it is now… and all in only about a 20 year period.
It used to be something that little kids could go to with their dads, a bonding experience if you will… where people passionately loved their team and kids valued their baseball cards. I think most of the nostalgia associated with it is gone. And I don’t think the sport will ever really recover. But that’s just my humble opinion.
