Billboards in Space…

Huh? The man in the moon may soon be competing with the Marlboro man?

 -) ), to Cessnas that fly back and forth over the beaches displaying banners,
compromise the darkness of the night sky even more than it is above large cities where the saturation of light often causes the sky to appear glowing instead of dark.
The U.S. Government doesn’t want these billboards. I’m guessing most Americans don’t either. Unfortunately, the FAA currently does not have the authority to enforce the existing law. They are seeking to write an amendment that would give the FAA proper authority to make sure these space boards could not be deployed by space companies that already have the technology to do so. Let’s hope the Democrats and Republicans will actually agree on this one and give the FAA authority to nip this in the bud before the sky starts to look like the Sunset strip.

Being that my real job is in marketing I’m finding Christine’s obvious dislike for simple advertising very discriminating.. what makes the midnight sky different then a day at the beach.. I mean I can’t go and relax on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the beach without being assulted by 15 airplanes dragging 2 mile long banners across the Southern California coast line advertising the latest and greatest beer or club… why should people in rural areas be able to relax at night looking at the stars…

On a serious side tho what Christine is advicated is that the United States government police space which has some issues.. for example… does that mean when China puts up a space billboard and it is over the U.S we have a right to blow it up because it breaks U.S law?

Advertising bod’s are the scum of the earth , we had a meeting with a mobile phone company the other day who are doing research into networking your mobile so as to give messages and play music as you walk or drive passed a billboard , can you imagine being on a bus full of schoolkids and driving through a built up area !!!!

Actually, it would be cool to deck the space shuttle out until it looked like something you might see at Nascar. I think more people would attend shuttle launches then. -)
