Plugging Along Into The New Year

Seems like it is that time of year again… actually it is that time of year again… ok ok (5 days late) when it’s time for me to look back on the past year… and attempt to make some good plans going forward. Tonight seems like as good as night as any, Christine is off relaxing with her sister and I’ve been pounding away at a big backlog of work I have.

Well reviewing 2007 is pretty easy… it was a good year for both Christine & I, we found far less than normal.. I contribute this to the fact that I’ve learned to not attack her so much on the blog. So we fight less but we still know how to have a good bang out break some cell phones and get dropped off in the hood type of fights…. if I didn’t post that story.. sorry. A quick synopsis Christine likes to order me to let her out of the car when we fight in the car… this year she demanded to get out of the car in Watts…. later on in that same fight I somehow got the bright idea that snatching her cell phone out of her hands and snapping it in half might shut her up. I was sadly mistaken. ;) Anyway that was probably actually a good turning point in the year as after that fight we both chilled and now we can both kind of laugh about it.

Professionally it seemed like Christine scored about 15 movies on TV this year and must be raking in the dough by now considering the Christmas gift she gave me… (a share of Berkshire Hathaway stock) … (and yes the diamond (<- man made ) j/k – necklace ) pretty much sucked in comparison.

I’m realizing Christine is so much better than I am at these type of posts, she just remembers so much more about the last 12 months.

Ok onto the blog… we started off the year strong.. posting, posting, posting.. and ended the year sucking…. we are both trying to figure out what happened. Neither of us seems to be able to find something worth pissing everybody off about. We’ll try and do better going forward.

So new years resolutions…

Well I’ve read it is important to make sure you only choose one or two resolutions.. so

1. Swear Less
2. Exercise More (I will accomplish this by taking a dance class with Christine and committing to 5 – 5ks)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINE!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Another  year in the books and Christine is now the ripe old age of 27 and looking GOOD!  There isn’t a whole lot I can tell everybody about Christine that hasn’t been said her about 200 time.. she is the real talent behind this blog and keeps it interesting with her exceptionally interesting and original posts.   I think when Christine looks back at her 26th year of life she will be totally impressed by how much she accomplished this year, from learning how to and investing in the stock marketing (and doing quite well I might add) to writing 6 or 7 movies that are going into production (get to go to one of her screenings tonight – yes party!), trying to keep up with Christine’s production can be a real pain in the ass.

A couple of other major accomplishments she helped setup the illegal immigration hotline where people can call in and report illegals to the authorities so they can come and arrest them ( and when I say she helped I mean that after the Feds red her posts about illegal immigration I’m sure they decided they had to do something! ).   She has also decided to put the full force of her influence into getting her apartment building to lock the dumpster so people would stop dumping furniture.  I told her bringing peace to Africa might be more noble to which she responded  “I’m going to save that for next year”.. so I’m expecting BIG things this year.  Other important notables she decided to fight with me  A LOT less this past year, (so I’m taking that as a sign that she likes me more) and I can now honestly say that Christine is by FAR the best cook I’ve ever known… (her potato soup is so good I would probably do horrible things to get her to cook it for me).  On that note it is time for me to go pick Christine up so I can take her to breakfast.  SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL!

Upgraded 2.3 – Directions Might Have Helped

So the blog us back up after being down for 4 or 5 hours, basically the install went.. “pretty smooth” however the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin actually screwed the install up enough to allow it not to happen.. after I eventually started deleting things in hopes of fixing things the situation started to get brighter… lucky for me I started with UTW. .

Anyway… eventually got the upgrade to go through but still had a broken .htaccess file (which I had changed in an attempt to fix things early).  It’s all good now.. and I do realize nobody cares.. on the bright side.. 2.4 should work perfect out of the box and my big worry about the two  plugins we also worked perfect. *woot*

Now I can finally write a new original post. :)

Explanation of the “Top Commenters” Titles

I told you we’d explain the new box on the left hand menu that says “Top Commenters.” It’s a plug-in Christopher created and called the Rank Plug-in and here’s how it works essentially…

Basically, it counts your comments– the number in the parenthesis– and based on that number assigns you a “title” that Christopher and I have chosen. At intervals of 50, you move to the next level. For example, if you’ve commented between 301 and 350 times, you’re a Zen Master and the ying-yang sign will appear next to your posts. Once you’ve commented 351 times, your title changes to “the Lil’ Devil” and you get a devil’s face.

Cool huh? Yeah, I know. My boy Christopher rocks.

Once you move up to a new title, your title will change on all of your previous comments too… as will your itty bitty picture.

It’s pretty awesome if you’re a commenter on our site because we came up with some pretty kick ass titles and pictures for you guys, but Christopher has also posted the plug-in so other people can add the feature to their sites (he’s generous like that -) ). If you do add it to your site, you can set your own titles, pictures, and number of comments at each rank. So enjoy!

MIA in the Canadian Wilderness

Well Christine has now officially disappeared into the Canadian Wilderness…. the hotel where she is suppose to be staying has no record of her… she checked in once in the middle of the night with an IM saying the laptop I gave her works great but has yet to email, message me her room number and of course as you all know her cell phone doesn’t work outside of Los Angles (this is something that is going to be addressed as soon as she arrives home, she is not going to China with this fucking piece of shit cell phone.  Normally at this point I’m just enjoying the silence and getting a lot of work done but this is very unlike Christine she likes to send her flight info 17 times before she leaves and email my 14 times in the first day she is there… granted it is usually to check on her plants or cat but the fact that she has not checked in when we are on good terms… has me concerned it’s time to get the mounties involved.
