FUCK NOW - Why woman’s groups suck.

Women’s rights advocates who say Joe Paterno made outrageous remarks about an alleged sexual assault want the Penn State football coach to resign. Joanne Tosti-Vasey, president of the National Organization for Women in Pennsylvania, said Paterno’s comments last week represent an institutional insensitivity that endangers women. She issued a news release late Friday calling for Paterno’s resignation. “When someone of his stature makes light of sexual assault, we have a serious problem,” Tosti-Vasey said. “It sends a message that this behavior is not serious … that sexual assault or rape or violence against women is acceptable for an athlete.” The coach’s remarks came a day before the Orange Bowl, when a reporter asked a question related to Florida State linebacker A.J. Nicholson. Nicholson was accused of sexual assault and sent home before Tuesday’s game.
Paterno replied by talking about past suspensions of Penn State players, according to an official transcript from the Orange Bowl. He then added: “There’s some tough — there’s so many people gravitating to these kids. He may not have even known what he was getting into, Nicholson. They knock on the door; somebody may knock on the door; a cute girl knocks on the door. What do you do?” “Geez. I hope — thank God they don’t knock on my door because I’d refer them to a couple of other rooms,” Paterno continued. “But that’s too bad. You hate to see that. I really do. You like to see a kid end up his football career. He’s a heck of a football player, by the way; he’s a really good football player. And it’s just too bad.” A spokeswoman at the NOW headquarters in Washington said the organization’s president, Kim Gandy, supports the call for Paterno’s resignation.
Guido D’Elia, communications director for Penn State football, said Paterno made his remarks in the larger context of distractions in the bowl-game environment. Nor, he said, did Paterno intend to make light of the assault allegations. “I think if you were present, you understood he meant no malice,” D’Elia said Saturday. “If you heard his tone, he really thought it was too bad for everybody. He was concerned for everybody.” Important note: No charges have been filed against Nicholson.

So since NOW is such a fucking retarded group of people, the male side of ChrisvsChris is officially calling for their whole organization to be disband, any group that can find malice in those comments is in need of serious help and attention.. aha typical woman behavior!.

This is a tough situation… it reminds me a lot of the Kobe Bryant case. First off… it’s stupid to interview ANYONE and ask what they think of a situation where someone is *allegedly* charged with sexual misconduct because (1) it’s simply an unfair question, and (2) I don’t really believe anyone (except for maybe Christopher) feels that sexual misconduct is acceptable. To toggle onto that… it’s equally stupid to make any remark at all when asked a stupid question like that because (1) you can’t possibly win– you will be made to look bad no matter how you answer, and (2) you really don’t know anything more about it than anyone else, so the good ole “I’m not privvy to the details of this case, but of course, I am not an advocate of sexual misconduct” is probably the best answer if you can’t get a “No Comment” to roll off your tongue. Now… while Christopher gets all doe-eyed whenever he sees a picture of JoePa, I have to say, it’s as much his fault he’s in this silly little mess as it is the interviewer who even thought to ask him the question and NOW for making it into such a big deal. I actually think NOW had done a lot of good for women in the past and I’m kind of surprised that they’re jumping on this issue with such momentum. Oh well… the good news is… by tomorrow everyone will have forgotten about it… just like they forgot about the Air Force coach’s comment about needing more black players because white boys are too slow (I think it was Air Force, right?).

One last point… isn’t calling all women who belong to NOW “fucking retarded” a bit judgmental? That would be like accusing all the football players of sexual misconduct… when you make a blanket statement like that, you’re bound to look like a retard yourself. -)

I disagree, a no-comment would have gotten him in hot water also. It’s like now a day’s people can’t say what they think of a situation, the truth is there are a bunch of women put themselves in situations where they might get paid, pointing out that truth is not an offense against humanity.
Your right.. the women of NOW probably don’t mean the legal definition of retarded.. they are just igonant attention whores.

NOW represents women like Enron represented their shareholders. NOW and PETA are two organizations that should be completely disbanded and their membership made to clean the sides of highways on general principles.

Is it only me or does the coach not make any point other than how good a football player he is, repeating that in different words -) :-/

My thought’s are similar to Chris’s. Paterno’s statement we preddy harmless and the NOW gang is just trying to make hay and grab some headlines. If Paterno had been considering retirement, it will look like the NOW gang had a hand in that.
Unfortunately, this episode does more harm than good for the NOW cause by presenting women as hysterical overreactors, which a lot of people already think they are.
Here’s what I wrote about it: http://3oclockam.blogspot.com/2006/01/nattering-nabobs.html#links

The word in the blogsphere seems to feel Paterno wasn’t out of line at all, and basically NOW is pretty much irrelivant all together so we should stop giving them free press because that was exactly their goal with attacking Paterno in the first place….. but I think it’s better to focus on NOW then on how I’m not going to heaven.. lol

We definitely shouldn’t focus on Christopher going to heaven because we all know that’s about as likely to happen as me playing starting quarterback for the Raiders next year… but I think NOW is just trying to find some sort of free press and I think Paterno set himself up to be put in this position. Is it really that hard to just say “No comment?” The whole thing could have been avoided… he sort of brought it on himself.

No.. no comment would be the same shit.. “Mr Paterno did not come out against the rape of a woman by a football player today by saying “No comment” when asked a question, it’s a fucking no win.. we want people not to be pussy’s and answer questions but we get pissed when they do.

I disagree. There’s nothing newsworthy in repeating over and over that someone said “No comment.” It just gets boring too quick.

I agree with Christopher with the last one. No comment would have been used equally well to fuel the news-hunger fire.
It might get boring but he would be taken out of context nonetheless.

Christine, it is part of Coach Paterno’s job to speak with the media, and therefore give more then a “no comment”. Christopher is correct. NOW is the organization wrong here, not Paterno. Your blaming of Paterno because he didn’t do something to avoid is the same as blaming the rape victim for wearing slutty clothes or drinking.

here’s the crazy thing, no charges have been filed? now does that mean it’s all good and the incident never happened? no, but Jopa saying its an unfortunate mis hap was right, right before a bowl game, cmon?it’s unfortunate that those miners are dead in mexico but realistically we dont give a shit in comparison to the 7 or 8 hillbillies in the US that were trapped and died let’s put it in perspective, the NOW pres was way too sensitive, and she should know if she’s that irritated, someone should let her know relief now comes in an easy to apply cream and works in 3 to 7 days

As this is old news I feel as a newbie to this site even though my cousin has told me repeatedly to get on his site i have never done it till now. I feel I should comment being PSU Alum and the fact that JoePa is a God and should be worshipped as so ) . Whatever he says is forged in stone for all to enjoy and believe. Now if you believe all you read I have some beach front property to sell anyone who is interested. It has also been eloquently stated that this issue recieved more prime time press coverage than a real unfortunate incident involving the deaths of men at work in mines. That’s a travesty in it’s own right! So to all the feamle activists out there who think a few word sof truth from JoePa is more deserving to be deamed national news than the deaths of 7 men I say “FUCK OFF” If women didn’t go parading around begging to be fucked such allegations wouldn’t be an issue at all. And Like it was said Allegations….the girl probably threw her jersey chasing, gold digging ass at him half naked!

As am i .. fuck women.. I don’t care if they are in NOW or not.. Christine is seroiusly on my shit list this week.. she wreaked my car, killed my ants (don’t worry that tale is comming soon enough) and .. AND threw my plate of food on the floor in Norms because I told her she needs to not call me in the middle of the night crying to tell me that the cords behind her computer are tangled.

fuck that.. that waitress at norms will attest to you throwing my food… I can get… ..whatever her fucking name was to come on her and agree with me…… unless she reads the tipping post..

Actually, I think the post you wrote about how foreigners should go back to their own countries may piss her off more than the tipping one… but that’s just my guess. Her name was Salima by the way… and I don’t think she’ll go along with your made up little story about me throwing food… but the girls at Starbucks where you fucking flipped out on me last night would probably attest to your potential for being an a-hole. -) Of course… unless they read your Starbucks post… and then I’m sure you’ll be on their preferred customer list. -)
