As much as I enjoy ripping on the Muslims tonight I am going to come to their defense. Earlier this week my mother forwarded me an e-mail about the fact that the United States Postal Service was issuing a stamp commemorating a Muslim holiday. She was outrage that the United States would issue a stamp for the Muslims the same group of people she felt who attacked us on 9/11 and at various other times. I felt it was important to point out to her that we have a separation of church and state here in America. TThis separation of church and state that allows us the freedom of religion also makes it essential for the post office to issue stamps that commemorate all religions somewhat equally. It is completely irrelevant if the majority of this country is Christian or any other religion. I also thought it was prudent to point out that we may not want to put a magnifying glass on Christians considering their somewhat tainted history. The Christian religion has killed and persecuted millions upon millions of people in the name of religion. The Crusades were a holy Christian war against a variety of people but mostly the Muslims and Islam. In this case I think we need to realize that it was not Muslims who attacked us on 9/11 it was terrorists and terrorist can come in a lot of forms. The terrorist from 9/11 happen to be radical Islam but this does not mean that the Muslim religion is somehow a enemy of the United States. The e-mail she was forwarding on also felt the need to state quite a view other so called facts which were really not based in fact at all. I do not think people should ever randomly forward e-mails because happen to think everybody should be Christian and someone wrote an email that would enforce that belief. Christine could write an e-mail that with sound 100% believable about probably almost any subject but could be 100% false and yet at any given time there are thousands of e-mails being forwarded throughout the Internet that are completely false and sent on as truth. I think it is high time that people take 10 minutes and check one or two facts from these sensationalized e-mails and see if what you’re forwarding on is even somewhat true because it probably is not.

I wish everyone would feel the same. Then so much of disinformed hatred would not exist.
Best place to check e-mails like that one is http://www.snopes.com.
Quite possibly the most ‘liberal’ post Chris has ever written…
Thank you, Trouble. It hasn’t been easy… and he’s still a work in progress.
