It sounds so reasonable, doesn’t it? Such a modest proposal. Why not teach “both sides” and let the children decide for themselves? As President Bush said, “You’re asking me whether or not people ought to be exposed to different ideas, the answer is yes.” At first hearing, everything about the phrase “both sides” warms the hearts of educators like ourselves.
Look I support the president on a lot of issues, hell I always support the presidents on a lot of issues because their job sucks and the more I know about any given situation the more I realize that I’m not really in a position to be judging the people who do know about situations that required really touch decisions. However that being said I do know that nobody who becomes President of the United states actually believes in intelligent design because it just simply is wrong, flawed and distorting in how it makes it’s basic arguments and when politicians start saying stupid things to gain votes, I’m going to call them on it.
First ID isn’t even a REAL theory, it’s a hypothesis that some dude made up, heck I’m not even sure it qualifies for hypothesis status. Real scientist don’t take serious because it is based on FAITH so it CAN’T be tested because GOD’S will can overcome ANY problems with any theory! Obviously this can’t be taught in school because it destroys the boundaries between church and state as well as being completely asinine! It’s similar to me saying we have to teach 7+4 is 19 because Christopher’s Intelligent Design on Addition says so. WTF PEOPLE. Now if we are really really serious about teaching idiocy lets also tell kids that ghosts are real, alien abductions happen daily, the tooth fairy is legit or how about we get serious about being intelligent people and not teach rubbish to our children.

Hey, as long as the kids are divided by gender, they’ll learn more and we’ll have lots of opportunities to teach stuff we couldn’t (or didn’t) before. Since we’re designing our public education system on completely unproven theories– like children learning better in same-sex classes, Intelligent Design– also an unproven theory– deserves to be on the list.
At least we can test the same gender thing, we can’t test ID.
Call it what it is. It isn’t intelligent design, it’s RELIGION. It’s a fact that our country was fouinded on religious (christian) prinicples, with the freedom to practice any (or no) religion without persecution. That being said, let’s have science taught in schools, religion taught in church, and values taught at home.
That seems so simple… and logical… how could it possibly work?
It doesn’t work because A. We have a large portion of the world who believe in ID and B. Don’t believe in evolution therefor if evolution is somehow wrong ( mostly because they can’t make it work with ID in their head) then ID should be taught in school because it must be right. However I just want to point out.. believing in something doesn’t even come close to making it true.
If they believe evolution is wrong, then why are they working it into their creationism beliefs to come up with Intelligent Design? They believe evolution is right because we can prove it, but they want to believe in creationism too, so they come up with this amalgumation of both theories so that creationism can’t be discounted by ID.
Ha! Chris you idiot, 7+4=13… I think I’d prefer a girl who went to a same sex school and who thinks 7+4=19… And is bi-sexual… With that being said… I volunteer to carry out the same-sex schooling “tests”… I promise to be objective…
As for separating church & school… Start by trying to separate church & state… And let me know how that works out for ya…
I think most of us would settle for more pics of Christine playing cards in bed…
