Women, by nature, are very self-critical about their looks. If you don’t believe me, just look at the amount of money we spend on getting our hair done, skin products, weight-loss programs, clothes, and plastic surgeries each year. “Being more beautiful” is big business in America, and our culture perpetuates the notion that if women aren’t beautiful, they won’t be successful, they won’t keep a man, and they won’t be respected. So… it’s not entirely our fault that we sometimes become obsessed with our appearances, develop eating disorders, and wind up being very insecure.

We can spend time complaining about how unfair it is for society to put pressure on women to be physically perfect, but chances are, we’re not going to change it. You probably just want that one special girl in your life to be a little less insecure about herself, [...]

Lost In Translation

True Story… driving home last night starving.. so I stop at one of the million “Fried Chicken Restaurants”, now I will admit I wasn’t in my nice and undiverse pueblo of Redondo Beach. However that really doesn’t excuse my experience at Jack’s Fried Chicken. So I drag my straving ass into JFK and sit down.. (yes it was sitdown)… the young mexican waitress comes up and asks me what I’ll have… I spot an interesting ad.. “Meal in Box” and think to myself now that sounds perfectly simple but I wasn’t sure what was included… and the exchange happens like this.

C: I’ll have the Meal in a Box, what exactly does that contain?

So Lily’s recent comment inspired this post. As I was scouring the internet for relevant and life-changing news to blog about, I came across a job ad for psychics. Everything in italics was taken directly from hiringpsychics.com (which apparently is THE place for psychics to go when they’re looking for work… I wonder how many of them apply and then don’t get hired… wouldn’t they know not to waste their time on a job they won’t get? Maybe only the “real” psychics get hired… yeah, that’s probably it…)

So I know some of the ladies reading are thinking.. ahhh how sweet.  He stole a flower to give to Christine.    I can tell you one lady.. (Christine) who isn’t thinking this at all. She infact thinks I stole a flower JUST to piss her off. (Because she has told me she hates this before)… ok ok.. this is true but that doesn’t negate how damn nice of a gesture it was to begin with.
