Sudoku Challenge

Last night Christine subtly laid down a challenge to me in what at first seemed like a peaceful offer to help me improve my grammar skills. Let me back up a little, the prior night Christine and I played a game of Sudoku, I believe medium level. She won, she is quite good at Sudoku in fact and I was impressed.. but now she had to go and talk smack…. and say “You’re good at a lot of things, but I’m better at Sudoku”. I beg to differ and I formally lay down a formal challenge.

The Details:
One month from the day of this posting the person who has completely more puzzles at: Thousand Sudoku Challenge is the winner.

Each of use will be required to print out each finished puzzle when we finish it correct. The person who completes the most puzzles is the Sudoku master. If we finish within one of each other we will call it a tie. Christine do you accept??

This would be a great challenge if… (1) I had lots of free time like Christopher does to sit around and do Sudoku puzzles, but since I have a job, I don’t… and (2) If the number of completed ones actually had any bearing on who was better at solving them. For example, if I attempt thirty puzzles and finish 29… and Christopher attempts 50 and finishes 31, then he would technically win according to “his” rules… and yet, I would obviously still be better than he is. So how about this… we each sit down, do five puzzles in a row, and see who finishes first. We will repeat this process four more times. Best 3 out of 5 wins. That will clearly show who is better at the game. Thoughts, babe???

  2. Christopher says:

aha, what you don’t realize is that I will be forgoing sleep for good because of this challenge, additionally you can’t move on to puzzle #2 until you finish puzzle #1

  3. Christine says:

Christopher… I love your competitive nature, but you’re missing the point. Are we trying to figure out who’s better at solving Sudoku, or trying to figure out who can get by with the least amount of sleep? Because if it’s the latter, there are a few things I can think of that I’d rather forgo sleep to spend more time doing… and Sudoku ain’t one of ‘em. ;-)

  4. Christopher says:

    Hmp. Scareeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

  5. Christine says:

It turns out Christopher wasn’t kidding about the Sudoku challenge. Last night he showed up at my house with two identical sudoku books of 200 puzzles each and forced me to sit down and race him on the first 8. Tally right now… 5 to 3. I’m winning… not much of a surprise though, is it? ;-)

  6. Christopher says:

Hell of a surprise to me!

  7. Christine says:

    Yeah…. riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight….

  8. benz says:

hope you still manage to sleep guys
