The Death of a Nation

“At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected?

“I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.” So said Abe Lincoln.

Last week, senators meeting in secret produced a bill to legalize our 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens. If a path to citizenship becomes law, nothing will stop the next invasion. As President Bush acknowledges, 6 million tried to breach our Southern border in his first five years. One in 12 — 500,000 — had a criminal record.

According to the Census Bureau, from mid-2005 to mid-2006, the U.S. minority population rose 2.4 million, to exceed 100 million. Hispanics, 1 percent of the population in 1950, are now 14.4 percent. Their total number has soared 25 percent since 2000 alone. The Asian population has also grown by 25 percent since 2000.

The number of white kids of school age fell 4 percent, however. Half the children 5 and younger in the United States are now minorities.

What is happening to us? An immigrant invasion of the United States from the Third World, as America’s white majority is no longer even reproducing itself. Since Roe v. Wade, America has aborted 45 million of her children. And Asia, Africa and Latin America have sent 45 million of their children to inherit the estate the aborted American children never saw. White America is in full flight.

In the 1990s, for the first time since the Spanish came, whites left California. Two million departed. From July 1, 2005, to July 1, 2006, 100,000 more packed up and headed back whence their fathers came. The “Anglo” population of the Golden State is down to 43 percent and falling fast. White folks are now a minority in Texas and New Mexico. In Arizona, Hispanics account for over half the population under 20.

The future is not in doubt. Why ought this be of concern?

First, while the black and Hispanic population combined is now 85 million — five times what it was in 1960 — half of all black and Hispanic kids drop out of high school. And the average math and reading scores of the half who graduate are at seventh-, eighth- or ninth-grade levels.

In 1960, 18 million black Americans, 10 percent of the nation, were not fully integrated into society, but they had been assimilated into our culture. They worshiped the same God, spoke the same language, had endured the same Depression and war, watched the same TV shows on the same four channels, laughed at the same comedians, went to the same movies, ate the same foods, read the same newspapers and went to schools where, even when segregated, we learned the same history and literature and shared the same holidays: Christmas, New Year’s, Washington’s Birthday, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Columbus Day. Segregation existed, but black folks were as American as apple pie, having lived in this land longer than almost every other group save the Native Americans.
That cultural unity, that sense that we were one people, is gone.

Today’s immigrants exceed in number anything any nation has ever known. They now come from cultures and countries whose people have never before been assimilated by any First World country. Not only is the Melting Pot broken, it is rejected by our elites. Minorities are urged to hold onto their own language, customs, traditions. Identity politics is in. And the largest cohort, Mexicans, comes from a country with a historic grievance and a claim on the territory they are entering.

All over the Western world, multiethnic, multicultural countries are coming apart over language, ethnicity, history. The Soviet Union broke into 15 nations, Yugoslavia into half a dozen. Czechs and Slovaks divorced. Scots want separation from England. Catalans and Basques seek independence. Corsicans and Bretons want out of France. Northern Italians want to secede. Only immigrants who prefer Ottawa prevent Quebecois from breaking free of Canada.

As we see from the election battles in Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Mexico, race and ethnicity are not receding as issues, but rising. In South Central Los Angeles, black and Hispanic gangs are at war over race and turf.

In 1915, Theodore Roosevelt warned, “The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities.”

In every way possible, Americans have said they do not want to take this risk with their country.

Why then are our politicians taking it?

I’m not sure how much “cultural unity” blacks felt back in 1960…

And I’m also not sure what abortion has to do with illegal immigration. They are in no way connected, and you’re suggesting that for every abortion in America, we decide to let a legal immigrant from Asia, Africa, or Latin America in.

The political climate in the U.S. also can’t really be compared to that of the defunct Soviet Union– which fell largely because communism cannot support itself– and of course, there was the Cold War.

I think our situation in the U.S. is very different.

While I’m not at all happy about the ridiculous bill introduced last week to solve our illegal immigration problem (which essentially was just proposing amnesty along with restrictions on future illegal immigration which were completely unenforceable), my concerns are less about the percentages of ethnicities in the U.S. and more about how the difference in cultural beliefs will affect our economic future. If a large population of low income Hispanic immigrants (mostly Catholic, and many who start having large families very young) continue to immigrate here, rely on our welfare systems, and the low income population increases, there will ultimately be a huge divide between them, and the more educated, wealthier, whites, blacks, and Asians who are having less children, starting families later in life, and are able to afford private education to aid in the potential for their children’s economic success in the future.

I don’t believe the influx of illegal immigration which drives down wages, and condones treating people like second class citizens, and exploits the welfare systems designed to help low income Americans is good for the U.S. I also don’t think giving these people amnesty for illegal behavior– when there are hundreds of Hispanics who have gone through the process of applying to come here legally and have been waiting for years for a visa to do so, is sending the right message. I’d rather have people here who respect our rules and laws, than people who say “fuck it if it’s not legal, I’ll do it anyway”– is sending the right message. I don’t think these immigrants are interested in assimilating to the culture of America and are trying to learn English like many of the legal immigrants from other countries do.

And I don’t know why our politicians aren’t listening to the American people. The majority of people I know see how this is a problem. Creating laws that are completely unenforceable is simply shirking the responsibility to fix this issue.

I’m not suggesting anything, just stating facts. We have aborted 45 million babies which would have been apart of the population otherwise and we have allow 45 million illegals have entered the country since abortion became legal. Simply a fact.

Why this is the case is likely a large combination of things, because we would need the cheap labor (that those teenagers would have filled, we were lax on immigration laws? possibly). Is is just how things worked out.., probably. It is important to realize that the country is 45 million white people light by our own choosing, and there would not nearly be the same amount of cheap labor jobs if we would have continued to populate at our pre-Roe/Wade rate. To say they are not possibly related is just emotion, clearly they are when we are talking census and population figures.

I do however agree with Christine that the real issue here is that we are allow a population with no regard for our laws into our population.. in fact a large % feel that Texas.. and Southern California are rightfully Mexico’s.

I fear that within the next 10-12 years, we will see an armed rebellion in this country. Either by Hispanics wanting to “reclaim” their country, or by whites (and possibly blacks) against the illegals. Mark my words — May 22, 2007.

Soviet Union imo didn’t come appart because of the different nationalities but because it was a regime of terror that had annexed pretty much all of the territories that separated and because communism will never work.

Theres kind of similar problem here right now (i’m from Estonia). Do the hispanics complain that their human rights are being violated when they dont get jobs because they cant speak English? Russians here do… anyway im better off stopping now because i could rant about Russia, Russian and Estonian relations and give you all a huge history lesson about Soviet Union but that would get way off topic and bore you

IMO its perfectly ok if immigrants live here of wherevever else if they accept the rules in the nation and dont act hostile against the state and its people and respect the traditions and customs and make an effort to learn the language

I had an exchange student from Estonia about five years ago. And by the way… you’re welcome to rant about Russia if you want.

I agree with what you said about being fine with immigrants if they’re willing to do that. But with one more caveat… they need to come here LEGALLY and do all that. There are thousands and thousands of people all over the world who would love to immigrate to the U.S. and the wait times (from what I heard) are incredibly long… in some countries people wait ten years to get a visa to move here.

The fact that we’re rewarding the people who are saying “fuck it, I’m coming whether you want me to or not” is just completely wrong in my opinion.
