What a Nightmare!

Literally… what a nightmare. Last night, I had the scariest dream EVER. I?m not kidding when I say I?ve had maybe 4 dreams this scary my entire life…

At 4:38 am, my eyes popped open and I was frozen with fear. I couldn?t even move. I just lied there, the last horrific image of my dream blazoned into my memory like some twisted still photo from a horror movie. As reason returned, the first thing I did was pray to God and ask Him to clear my room of anything evil (I know, Christopher would make fun of me for doing that… but there was so much evil in that dream, I would have performed an exorcism if I?d known how -) ). I still couldn?t move. What should I do? I thought. Call Christopher and have him come over… Christopher once told me that if I was ever scared, I could call him. I?ve never cashed in on that?because I?m rarely too scared of anything. Even when Christopher brings over fucked up movies like SAW and then hides in the closet and jumps out at me as I come out of the bathroom, I get over it pretty quick. He knows I don?t get scared which is why he offered to let me call him if I ever am… Wait… I can?t call Christopher. He?s on a plane to the east coast right now. Breathe. Okay… you?re on your own, girl.

Then… I remember something I learned in LOST. When you?re scared, count to five, and then do whatever it is you need to do. Five seconds is enough time to waste on being scared. So I start to count. On five, I sit up and look at the clock. Almost morning. Good.

I decide the best thing to do, still unable to shake the willies, is to turn on every light in the whole apartment. So I do. Better.

Where did that dream come from? I think… Am I that sick and twisted that I could have made up something like that in my own head? Was some evil force trying to attack me as I slept? Was it the fish tacos I ate 9 hours before?

I am still so creeped out, I know I won?t be able to go back to sleep, so I start to think maybe I should write down notes about my dream to use in a movie. But the last thing I want to do is think about that nightmare, so I log onto chris vs. chris and start reading comments. By 5:00, the images of the nightmare have faded away to the recesses of my mind and I am responding to comments about tipping.

So there you have it… the moral of the story is…Chris vs. Chris does do some good in the world. Aside from spreading Christopher?s sexist, racist, and generally messed up view of the world, it helps you free your mind from macabre dreams… so it?s all good. -)

I still remember a nightmare I had as a fourth grader where I found a dead body and went to tell someone, and when we got back, the body was gone and no one believed me. That was a really bad one… but it was NOTHING compared to the one I had last night. I know most scientists believe that dreams are random thoughts stimulated by electrical impulses firing in your brain as your body rests, but this thing had a full-on story and an internal logic. That’s why it was so creepy… it wasn’t just a bunch of images. Much more haunting than that. -O

Though I have never had any nightmares ever, I do have recurring dreams which are not on the pleasant side!
But usually I’, so zonked out that I don’t remember what the dream was.
No, I’m not zonked out due to drugs or alcohol or anything but due to insane sleeping times and irregular rest/work habits -(

I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who hasn’t had a nightmare before… that’s really interesting. Maybe you’ve had nightmares, but you’re so brave, they weren’t that big of a deal to you… which brings me to another thought… why do some people have lots of nightmares and others don’t? I’ve had maybe 4 really bad ones my whole life. Is that a lot? Or few? Who knows? Has anyone ever done a study on this? If not… they should. And they should post their study on our blog. Because this is intersting! -)

The definition of a nightmar is differnt to everybody.. i dreaming i totaly missed my finals in college tonight.. i’ve only been out of college for 5 fucking years.. where did that dream come from? If i woke up from someone trying to kill me i would probably chuckle.. and i usually always just kind of laugh when i wake up from a dream because it’s just something our midn creates for whatever reason.. people who dream fucked up things.. like you do.. Christine have deep.. deep mental issues.. I have a lot of evidence also.. Stabbing’s, talking to bugs.. your dreams.. )

aJ the Zen Master hunt n' pecked this

I believe studies have been going on for the past few decades and scientiests and psychologists are trying to find out more about why we have dreams, nightmares and how they relate to the mental state of the brain.
As is obvious, one is more likely to have a bad dream or even a nightmare after a negative incident in the recent past or under conditions great stress!

Conditions of great stress? Hrmmm… that explains it. Christopher puts such pressure on me to write better posts, it’s intense… unachievable. -) If those scientists need a test case, I’m willing. -D

She could be tested for all kinds of mental issues..

Of course, they probably won’t tell me anything I don’t already know… my mental state would improve greatly and my stress would probably diminish if I didn’t have Christopher pushing me to write more, more… break a million words on the blog he yells… -)
