WTF - Alec Baldwin & Cam’ron

Nice one two from two celbs today:

I’ll start with Cam’ron:
Rap star Cam’ron says there’s no situation — including a serial killer living next door — that would cause him to help police in any way, because to do so would hurt his music sales and violate his “code of ethics.” “If I knew the serial killer was living next door to me?” Giles responds to a hypothetical question posed by Cooper. “I wouldn’t call and tell anybody on him — but I’d probably move”

Next on to Alec Baldwin:
An enraged Alec Baldwin unleashed a volcanic tirade of threats and insults on his 11-year-old daughter, Ireland, calling her a “thoughtless little pig,” and bashing her mother Kim Basinger — and TMZ has obtained the whole thing unfiltered and raw. And we’ve learned, a family law judge was so alarmed after hearing the tape, she has temporarily barred Baldwin from having any contact with his child.

After Ireland failed to answer her father’s scheduled morning phone call from New York on April 11, Alec went berserk on her voice mail, saying “Once again, I have made an ass of myself trying to get to a phone,” adding, “you have insulted me for the last time.”

Switching his train of thought, Baldwin then exercised his incredible parenting skills and took a shot at his ex-wife, declaring, “I don’t give a damn that you’re 12-years-old or 11-years-old, or a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn’t care about what you do.” The irate Baldwin went on to say, “You’ve made me feel like shit” and threatened to “straighten your ass out.”

“This crap you pull on me with this goddamn phone situation that you would never dream of doing to your mother,” screamed Baldwin, “and you do it to me constantly over and over again.”

Before hanging up, Baldwin warned the child, “You better be ready Friday the 20th to meet with me.” That’s tomorrow.

We’ve learned that on Wednesday, Los Angeles County Superior Court commissioner Maren Nelson heard the tape and temporarily suspended Baldwin’s visitation rights. A hearing is set for May 4, where the judge could permanently deny Baldwin visitation or contact with Ireland.

Baldwin’s lawyer, Vicki Greene, told TMZ, “Whatever happened yesterday was sealed and confidential. What you’re telling me you’ve got you shouldn’t have.”

UPDATE: Basinger’s publicist, Annette Wolfe, told TMZ: “The voicemail speaks for itself.”

UPDATE: Alec Baldwin’s spokesperson released the following statement to the TV show “EXTRA”: “In the best interest of the child, Alec will do what the mother is pathologically incapable of doing … keeping his mouth shut and obeying the court order. The mother and her lawyer leaked this sealed material in violation of a court order. Although Alec acknowledges that he should have used different language in parenting his child, everyone who knows him privately knows what he has been put through for the past six years.”

Yeah, having President Bush in the Oval Office has been absolutely unbearable for poor ole Alec!

I *thought* he swore he would move out of the US… me thinks Ireland would appreciate that! d

Oh, and as far as Cam’ron goes (I know I’m not into the whole rap scene, but I don’t know who he is! It’s hell getting old…) doesn’t knowing information about a crime and withholding it from the police constitute “aiding and abetting a criminal”. Shouldn’t he be fired? Oh, wait… see http://www.chrisvschris.com/the-hypocrisy-of-niggers/ as to why that could never happen!

What’s up with the ‘crazy’ gene that seems to run in the Baldwin family???

But hey, who says a dad desperately trying to retain custody of his preteen daughter should (1) know exactly how old she is, or (2) accept this ridiculous, obviously malicious behavior in not answering the phone when he calls because she should realize what an ass people make of themselves when they have to excuse themselves to make a phone call. Can’t old Alec afford a cell phone?

As for Cam’ron… I have a feeling that if someone stole his Lamborghini parked outside the Ivy one night, he’d be the first one on the phone filing a police report… and he’d expect them to catch whomever stole it. I guess things can seem a little different when YOU’RE the one that needs the police’s help…

Like I’ve always said and it applies to Cam’ron too… if you’re not part of the solution, then you’re part of the problem.

To address PJ about whether not reporting a crime constitutes aiding and abetting, it depends on the law of your state. Remember the little girl who was killed in the Las Vegas casino restroom by the college kid and the backlash against his friend who knew what was happening? The friend couldn’t be charged with anything because at that time, Nevada did not have a law that required individuals for report crimes.

Because it’s one of the best sayings EVER! It makes people accountable, gets them involved, encourages awareness! Okay, maybe I overuse it… but there are sooo many applications for that cliche, I just can’t help it sometimes… -)

Didn’t Baldwin also say that he was coming to L.A. specifically to deal with this not answering the phone for a scheduled call situation?

Methinks the man has a few screws loose…

Oh yes! I forgot Mara was our resident lawyer-to-be… So ‘accessory after the fact’ is similar to ‘aiding and abetting?’ Does one imply doing something proactive to assist and the other imply just having information that you withhold from the police?

Ya think…? lol.

I didn’t realize that law about not reporting crimes was a state issue.. very cool to know tho.. I think I can use that to my advantage.

Mara the Peacemaker spake, and sayeth

Well, failing to report a crime is a “state” issue only to the extent that your particular state might criminalize it. The feds might have a similar law as well — don’t know. But don’t get too excited, Christopher. California may have a law similar to Nevada. You might want to check that out first… )

Generally, accessory after the fact and aiding and abetting require some active assistance on the perpetrator’s part while withholding is more passive (you know that there is a crime in progress but you don’t report it). However, like I said before, different states vary. Some states do not make accessory after the fact a crime and laws may vary on when withholding is criminalized (such as obstruction of justice or state laws that mandate reporting in some cases such as child sexual abuse).

cam’ron isn’t too worried about the serial killer because he has an entorage for the killer to go through before he’d be killed that are all strapped, Baldwin, what an ass! I think the only way he can repair his impeccable image is to do the skit with adam sandler and the gay scout master from snl… oh thats right, he’s always been seen as an angry crazed man when it comes to him and his relationship with his ex, nevermind 8)

Mara the Peacemaker got all philosophical

Hmm. I wonder what kind of “code of ethics” Cam’ron has that would keep him from reporting a SERIAL KILLER.

The difference between me and Christopher:

If I don’t get actual work done when I’m working from home, I don’t get paid. He can blog all day from work, and still get paid. Hrmmm….

At least his company hasn’t blocked the site for adult content yet… that’s what happened to Ben I think.
